Episode 1 is the first episode of Marionetta in Season One.
Summary[]
The episode begins with a flash forward in which it is implied that Julia, wearing a mushroom fairy costume, has killed someone. Brought back to the present, Julia and Kamille, now wearing work uniforms, are seen chasing a bus after a hard day's work at the clothing factory. On the bus they learn that the Anthonn Gremminger Traveling Troupe is in town. At first, Julia refuses to go, but Kamille is able to convince Julia to join her at the circus since it's the day before Kamille's birthday.
Once at the circus the two girls are separated as Kamille volunteers to join Finnegan's act. While Julia is waiting for Kamille on a bench nearby, her rest is disturbed by a group of children bullying a clown. She scolds the children for misbehaving, leaving an impression on the clown. Meanwhile Kamille loses track of Julia and bumps into two illusionists. She believes she has fallen in love at first sight and decides to follow them. Kamille doesn't want to go home yet and decides to ask the illusionists for an autograph. Unfortunately when she enters she witnesses a performer with her head cut off while clearly still alive. Realizing the implication of what she's seeing, Kamille turns to run, being stopped by one of the illusionists before she can escape.

- The beginning of the episode mirrors the beginning of Miriam's other series, Hooky. Fans joke that where Hook never would have happened if Dani and Dorian caught the bus, Marionetta nevery would have happened if Julia and Kamille missed the bus.
- The sign on the building of the factory reads "Every uniform goes to a Kalgrat soldier! DO YOUR PART".
- As Julia and Kamille explore the circus we can see multiple characters from later in the story performing their acts!
